600 bank branches in 5 weeks. 2 to 10 window light boxes per branch. A simple math problem for routing and scheduling, right?

But sometimes Philadelphia happens. In Philadelphia the downtown branches (a lot of them) had 2-story atriums. This was a surprise! To correctly suspend and get electric to the light boxes scissor lifts were needed. The schedule was upended.

So we adapted. Identified the locations needing scissor lifts. Planned to bring in additional crews. Organized the new schedule along with the logistics of getting the lifts in and out of downtown locations (with all their delivery and parking restrictions). Made it happen.

All in time to meet the project end date!

What we’ve accomplished:

1.

Communication is key to any project. Timely communication is even more important. By quickly identifying the issue with the 2-story atriums we were able to work with our client to route the delivery trucks and the installation crews where they could complete their tasks while a solution was identified.

2.

The solution involved changing the schedules with the branches, changing the delivery schedules with the transportation provider, ordering lifts and confirming where and when they could be delivered in the downtown market, and working out how to make sure the lifts could be brought into the buildings and used safely.

3.

Working quickly on these adjustments enabled us to identify additional crews, get them to the market, and complete the scheduled work within the original project timeframe.
